Adega do Cantor has emerged as the grand winner of 3 of the most coveted awards during the “ III Concurso o melhor Vinho do Algarve 2010 – 3rd Challenge for the Best Wine of the Algarve “ – hosted at Fataçil, Lagoa on August 24th 2010.
Judged by a panel of highly acclaimed critics including sommeliers from michelin starred restaurants in the algarve as well as
heads of national wine fraternaties, Adega do Cantor is proud to announce winning the following medals (please click on the

Oz Clarke and Sir Cliff Richard – A Match made in Cyberspace

OZ CLARKE, THE UK’S BEST KNOWN WINE EXPERT, TEAMS UP WITH SIR CLIFF RICHARD TO LEAD THE COUNTRY’S BIGGEST ONLINE WINE TASTING

Famous celebrity wine expert Oz Clarke is set to lead the nations wine lovers through six Portuguese wines, including Sir Cliff Richard’s own Vida Nova. The event, which bats off at Lords Cricket ground on April 12th at 7.00pm, is just the tip of the iceberg, as the whole country can join in with Oz in cyberspace.
The Big Tasting event will be co-hosted with Waitrose and will be streamed live to both Waitrose Canary Wharf and John Lewis Oxford Street stores. The event, the largest of its kind, will encapsulate the explosion of social media and wine tasting by allowing the nations wine fans to follow Oz online via www.thebigtasting.com, and www.twitter.com/VPWine.

Here’s how it all works
• The special pack of 6 wines can be brought on-line from 13th March at www.waitrosewine.com. Most are also available in-store
• The wines can be sampled on the weekend of 10th / 11th April at participating Waitrose stores
• To follow the tasting online, log onto www.thebigtasting.com or www.waitroseonline.com to taste along with Oz on April 12th or follow the whole event on twitter – www.twitter.com/VPWine
• To attend the tasting, tickets can be bought from www.seetickets.com The Big Tasting will feature a tutored tasting of the current top six wines to come out of Portugal, selected by industry experts – including Sir Cliff Richard’s Vida Nova red wine from the singer’s Adega do Cantor winery in the Algarve; Tagus Creek Cabernet/Aragonez; Quinta de la Rosa Waitrose Douro Red; Arco de Esporão, Alentejo; Tinta da Anfora; Quinta da Azevedo.

Tickets are available for the tasting at Lord’s Cricket Ground, at a cost of £15 per person. The tickets can be purchased on-line at www.seetickets.com .

News:
Vida Nova Rosé 2008 and Onda Nova Verdelho 2008 have both won Bronze medals at the International Wine Challenge in London. Vida Nova Branco 2008 and Onda Nova Syrah Rosé both received commendations.
